Your Wedding: Everyone & Their Mom Is Invited.

Wedding season has hailed upon us. A time of overflowing ‘sharbat’, endless bouquets and so. Much. Tulle. Social media feeds transform into a highlight reel of ceremonies, with caterers crafting towers of foie gras and caviar, and photographers capturing every tear of joy (and maybe some envious looks from ‘3awagez el farah’). But amidst the flurry of filters and hashtags, a question whispers: have we lost the magic in the matrimonial maze?

Let's be honest, folks. Between the virtual wedding crashers, and the ever-escalating "wow factor", the traditional wedding has become a bit...well, oversaturated. It's like comparing a delicate watercolor painting to a neon sign – both eye-catching, but one says a sweet sentiment while the other screams for attention.

Here's the thing: contests for "Bride of the Year" (judged by the algorithm gods) and the pressure to outdo every Pinterest board dream wedding leaves many couples feeling like their special day is less about them and more about everyone else's expectations. It's no wonder the financial burden of weddings is enough to make even the most romantic groom sweat.

And let's not forget the audience. Millions of viewers with opinions on everything from the napkin color to the ma2zoon’s look (because apparently, everyone's a critic in the age of social media). Suddenly, your intimate vow exchange becomes open to public judgment, with the potential for viewers to deem your heartfelt ceremony "cringeworthy" (shudder!).

So, what's a love-struck couple to do? Well, the answer lies in remembering the essence of "I do” or “zawagtok nafsy”. If a micro-wedding with your nearest and dearest feels right, then go for that intimate ceremony. Don't feel pressured to mainstream your wedding or to outdo every other bride you know.

The key is to reclaim your special day. Let it reflect your love story, not the latest trend. After all, wouldn't genuine smiles and heartfelt connections make for a far more beautiful – and meaningful – wedding album than a staged photo op?

Remember, your wedding day is a celebration of love, not a competition for likes.

After all, true love deserves a fairytale – not a reality show.
