Fashion trends come and go with the blink of an eye, especially in the age of Tiktok, daily new drops, and fast fashion, but there's something undeniably captivating about high fashion, runways and couture that keeps us hooked. While runway looks may seem extravagant and unattainable for our daily lives, there's a way to adapt those flamboyant styles to our wardrobes. Get ready for a fashion journey where we decode the secrets of translating high fashion trends into your own wearable style, that just screams you!

1. Embracing the Essence
High fashion is all about pushing boundaries and making bold statements. While you may not wear a head-to-toe avant-garde ensemble to your local Gourmet, you can incorporate the essence of high fashion into your everyday fit. When window shopping or scrolling through your browser, look for pieces that have a touch of drama, such as a statement jacket for your next birthday party or a pair of eye-catching shoes for a chic outing (Carrie Bradshaw is so jealous of you right now). These items instantly elevate your style and make a statement without overwhelming your entire look. A little goes a long way, trust us!

2. Experimenting with Accessories
Accessories hold all the power when it comes to transforming an outfit. Taking inspiration from the runway by incorporating bold and unexpected accessories into your everyday ensembles can make the whole difference. Think cowboy hats (yeehaw!), oversized sunglasses, chunky statement jewelry, or a vibrant scarf tied in a creative way. Just imagine how much that would take your look to the next level. These small touches can take even the simplest of outfits and infuse them with that high fashion flair, and even make your lazy outfit seem like you put a lot of effort into it.

3. Playing with Proportions
High fashion often challenges the conventional rules of proportion and silhouette, and we’ve always seen this on the runway, from Louis Vuitton’s Spring 2023 fashion show, to Molly Goddard’s maximalism volumne that we’re used to seeing. To adapt this daring spirit to your daily routine, experiment with shape and structure (and more so than oversized sweatpants and a tiny crop top, but hey that counts too!). Some ideas we recommend: dresses with trailing dresses, dramatic tulle or ruffles, or a half long half short skirt, maybe bigger-than-life blazers (or at least bigger than necessary). The key is to create a balance that flatters your body shape while adding an element of fashion-forwardness to your look.

4. Finding Inspo in the Trends
Runway shows are a great source of inspiration, but not every trend is practical for everyday. Instead of trying to replicate a look from head to toe, pick and choose elements that resonate with you, that being a specific color palette, a unique texture, or a playful pattern. Young fashionistas, you can find ways to incorporate these trends into your existing wardrobe. For example, we all know how much cheetah print is in right now, as seen on Michael Kors’ Fall
2023 collection, so perhaps opt for a leopard print accessory like a belt or shoes to add a touch of high fashion to your outfit.

5. Confidence.
No matter how well you adapt high fashion trends to your everyday style, the most crucial element is confidence. Own every stride, ladies. When you believe in your outfit, everyone else will too. Or, at least fake it till you make it!
High fashion trends may appear intimidating at first, but with a little creativity and a touch of individuality, you go a long way. By taking our tips and exuding confidence, you'll become a fashion icon and transform those runway looks from Vogue into fresh, wearable ensembles in your own little closet.
